I was recently asked what I considered was the key factor most people overlooked when seeking to turn ideas, products or services into exceptionally successful ventures.
I believe that most people underestimate the work and attention to detail that must occur each and everyday.
The challenge is to think in terms of process, rather than results, while, at the same time, having a clear expectation of the consequences desired.
For example, zealously taking ownership of what needed to be done with obsessive care and attention to detail were the hallmarks of Steve Job’s leadership...
And in consequence he did more to determine how we work and play than any person on the planet.
Without the daily diligence that must occur everyday to be great, companies will limit their achievements.
Becoming obsessive about going that extra mile, either in preparation or delivery, is a worthwhile habit not to be underestimated.
